MySQL data source, without ODBC?

Hello all,

I'm trying to connect to an externally hosted MySQL database that doesn't allow ODBC connectors. This is unfortunate as most of the posts I've seen online recommend using them.

Alternatively I think using an ADO.Net connector to access MySQL is possible, however I'm having trouble setting it up inside Cognos (if it's possible at all). I simply don't see the option in my data source connectors and most information I'm seeing online is referring to Cognos Virtual View Manager, which not familiar with.

If anyone has used a MySQL data source inside the FM another way, I'm be happy to hear suggestions.

(I am investigating making a ETL process to move MySQL data to SQL Server, but ideally I would connect directly.)

Regards,

Nicholas.
