Hi guys i have a question for you all. Is it possible to create a crosstab report in a list report and perform master detail relationship between them. When i run the report, whenever there is a selection made in the list report, the crosstab report should also be filtered.

Yes, you can drag a crosstab into a list and then set a master-detail between them. Each detail query is filtered by the master query based on the link you specify when creating the relationship.

I'm not sure what you mean by "whenever there is a selection made in the list report".

Thank you Lynn. I mean when i run the report, there shouldn't be a prompt page at the beginning

Hi all. I have created a list report and a crosstab report and performed drill through and master detail relationship functions between them so that when i run the report, changes made in the list report is automatically applied to crosstab report too. When i run the report, i get the desired output but with a prompt page which asks me to select value and then displays the output. Is it possible to get the report without the prompt page in the beginning?

You can out default values to your prompts. Then in cognos connection, set properties to your report under Report Tab, you'll see Prompt for values checkbox, uncheck it.

Seems to me you would filter both queries using the same parameter.

Kishore_Gowda , I have merged your two topics into one. Please don't double-post like this - people could spend time trying to answer in one topic when the other topic already contains the answer. Please read the Forum Etiquette post here, paying close attention to point 4.
