Hi guys, :) :)

Is there any way possible to have the EXCEL 2017 Format option to wrap the title of the columns. I can use 5% or 10% for the Width and the columns are getting wrapped in PDF and HTML but for Excel, no luck yet.

I understand there is a way to have this done by changing a Dispatcher parameter "RSVP.EXCEL.XLS2007_ALLOW_WRAPPING_SINGLE_CELL and set the value to TRUE"

but our group that handles the server is totally separated from the developers so it'll take additional effort.

Is there some way to set it up with the Report Studio?

Thanks so much for your time as always!

I wish somebody would explain in a more clear manner, what the below means. Great job explaining Cognos,

"If the report contains only one table, the value of the width attribute for the Table
element in the report specification determines the width of the table in the Excel
worksheet.
If the report contains more than one table, Excel determines the width
of all the tables in the worksheet. If the tables are nested, the width specified for
the outer table is used and, if necessary, the width is adjusted to accommodate
data in the nested tables. The columns and rows around the table are merged to
preserve the appearance of the nested table.
When you save the workbook, only a
single table is saved per worksheet.

I guess I call the IBM suppert!! >:( >:(

Build table at the top label (Title) for each label and divide the Lable to different rows. Excel understands the different table rows
and the label and column is smaller in EXCEL.

Problem resolved.  :) :)

The problem (I have) with that solution is that it creates incorrect column headers - when you go to sort that table, Excel will consider any row underneath the column header to be part of the table.

I have to say, it's insane to me that this is so difficult for Cognos. Excel is the Lingua Franca of the business world. Having a spreadsheet that is 6 screens wide upon export because you can't format the output is unacceptable IMO.

I totally agree! I even tried in Cognos 11 Analytics and faced the same issue. It is also taking a lot of empty space in front of the numeric fields. Unused space. Thx
