How do we access the 'Companion Applications' mentioned at the front of the Workspace User Guide - ie for access to Workspace , Event Studio , Query and Analysis Studio (I believe that these are still included in the product)

thanks

Hi,

When you install, you need to select the Custom option - this implicitly assumes you are an existing Cognos client and want to use the legacy components. This sets the "Legacy switch", and when this is set you can click on New and see an extra option called "Other". Within this are the companion applications you are looking for. If you have installed already using the "Ready to run" option, it is possible to enable the Legacy switch after-the-fact, but it isn't particularly easy:

•   Download an appropriate REST capable plug-in for your browser such as Postman for Chrome.
•   Launch Cognos Analytics logging in as System Administrator.
•   Using your REST capable plug-in send a put method with JSON with a URI like: http://<server>:<port>/bi/v1/configuration/keys/global
•   Select RAW JSON, with value: {"Configuration.LegacyLaunchable":"X"}
•   X=1: Legacy components are available
•   X=0: Legacy components are not available

Cheers!

MF.
