Team Content Icons Missing in IE

Greetings, I'm not a frequent user of Cognoise, so I will apologize in advance if I make a mistake. I've tried searching for a resolution to an odd situation but have yet to find anyone else having it.

What's the backstory?
We are attempting to move from Cognos 10.2.1 to Cognos Analytics (11.0.5). Prior to adventuring down this path I augmented years of experience with a course on Cognos Administration in Cognos Analytics/11 which involved installing Cognos Analytics and configuring many options.

I replaced my development environment (I'm the only "BI" resource so if I'm not developing, nobody is) with Cognos Analytics. Then I migrated the entire content store from production (10.2.1) to development (11.0.5). For the most part things seem pretty good, LCM has been an asset when comparing environments, and all-in-all it seems that users should still be able to get the same reports.

So where's the issue?
When I go to CA from my computer in IE, I do not see icons for Team content entries. Folders look the same as reports or packages. When I use any other browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) I see the icons. When I use IE on a different computer, I see the icons. For the most part I'm willing to blame computer gremlins and just use a different browser. BUT my experience tells me that somebody important will have this same issue and will not want to change browsers. So any ideas on what might be causing it?

Extra information

  • My computer runs the most recent Windows 10
  • I opened IE's developer console (F12) to see if there were errors; there were but they were related to some kind of missing jquery.map files
  • The version of IE that is not working is 11.576.14393.0 while the version that works is 11.0.9600.18538

Try this:

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21992627

1. On Internet Explorer 11, click the 'Tools' icon in the top right hand corner.
2. Click 'Internet Options' from the available list.
3. Under the 'Security' tab, click 'Custom level...'.
4. Under the sub-heading 'Miscellaneous', view the 'Display mixed content' section and point it to 'Enable'.
Restart your web browser after the above changes have been made as well as your Cognos service.
