HI

I have happily seen that Cognos now supports naming excel worksheets dynamicly.
This works as it should when I run a report manually.
But it does not seem to work when a report is scheduled to run automaticly and distributed via mail.

Does anyone know if this is a kown limitation or should we investigate why it does not work for us?

Lynn

In the documentation:

"To dynamically name Excel worksheet tabs, ask your administrator to add the RSVP.EXCEL.PAGEGROUP_WSNAME_ITEMVALUE advanced setting to the report service."

These links provide additional detail.

Dynamically named excel tabs is really a fantastic enhancement that people have been asking about for years!

When you run a report interactively, it is rendered by the Report Service. If you have made the change noted above by Lynn to the Report Service, then reports run interactively will support dynamic worksheet names in Excel.
When you run a report in batch or via a schedule, it is rendered by the Batch Report Service rather than the Report Service. Unless you have made the same change to the Batch Report Service, you're not going to see dynamic worksheet names in Excel. If you make the same change to the Batch Report Service as you have already made to the Report Service, this should give you what you need.

Cheers!
