Hi,

I am facing one strange problem for one of user with IBM Cognos Planning Administrator (CAC). Respective user has Admin access on the server where CAC is installed.

User is able to access CAC application however 'System Setting' option is not available/visible in left pane tree. It should have been displayed and accessible to the user as shown in attached screenshot.

What could be the possible reason of it? Is user missing any access? Please suggest.

They are an admin on the server but are they also a member of Planning Administrators group in Cognos? That is the first question that comes to mind as I read your question.

SGD

Yes, problematic user is member of Server Admin as well as member of Planning Administrator group.

I have raised PMR with IBM and even they are also quite confuse about this case. Thay have suggested me to check by creating new Content store to verify if user is corrupted in an existing Content store DB.

Hi,

I am encountering the same problem.. Access Rights is also not visible. We just imported applications, adjusted tablespaces size, GTP the app, and replaced the tnsnames.ora but the file only contains two additional connections.

Hi SGD,

Is your application still working fine on front-end when using this user? Cause on our case the applications acts like a folder. I wonder if we have the same issue.

Thanks and kind regards,
Tori

Hi Vina,

On our case, we solved this issue by adding the account to Planning Rights Administration group. Hope it helps.

Cheers!

Hi Tori,

Problematic user is already in Planning Rights Administration group but still can't see 'System Setting' option. :(

What other groups are they a member of?
