Hello every body!

I wonder if is posible to display all the elements in a search promt  in the same way a display promts do it.

example: in a Select prompt if i type e , it would display all the elemens that contains the word "e" i would like to type something that return me all something like in SQL : the "select *.."

its thats possible ?

Thanks in Advance

Gyana

Yes, you can do that by adding the query item in the Query used & display value in the "select & search prompt" properties .

Cheers..:)

Thanks for reply Sekhar!

but i already did that ( suposing i m using product Line ) in Use value i have :[Sales].[Products].[Product Line]
                                                                                                    Display Value : [Sales].[Products].[Product Line]

but it doens change anything, if i type G , I see all the elements that start with G, but i m looking for a kind of command that could help me to list all the elements . So basically im looking for something to type that display all the elemens and not just the ones who contais that leter..

Thanks in Advance

In your Search and Select prompt (when you run the report) you should see an Options link. If you click on the you can then slect "Contains any of these keywords"...I think that's what you're looking for

Enrique

Thanks for the Answer    BigChris , but still not

that are just the options , Starts with any of these keywords
Starts with the first keyword and contains all of the remaining keywords
                                          Contains any of these keywords
                                          Contains all of these keywords

but there are no anything like in SQL : ( im using Product Line )  select * from product Line,  I just want to see ALL the ellemens NOT just those that contains a letter. but mybe is not possible. it was just a Order from my boss, (imagine he doesnt know what elements have , so he want simply display all to see them ) is that possible ?

Thanks

BigChris

Ahhh...ok, I was close then. Depending on what you're database is, putting a wild card into the search box should give you the results. In my case I'm on SQL server, so I put a % into the box and selected "Contains any of these keywords" and it brought back all of the elements.

I'm not quite sure to be honest. You've already added Solved to the subject to that's a good start. You might be able to change the message icon to a tick, but I don't know about that.
