Anyone tried Windows 10 yet?

I know it's barely even out there and of course not supported by IBM at this point, but curious if anyone has tried Windows 10 yet? Our IT department is not yet allowing us to install it, so I have no idea if it works well or not.

Given that recent versions seem increasingly browser agnostic, it might work at least for the non-authoring components.

I did! Upgrade from windows seven SP1 to Windows 10 Pro. When using Internet Explorer we have the same behavior than before. So we have to use the Active Directory to force the compatibility mode and then everything is working. I tried with edge but just for fun...it looks like it's working until you realize some menus are missing... :o

BUT I've noticed a big slowdown when using report studio or the cognos configuration or the framework manager. Everything works but it's slower I don't know so far if it's windows 10 related.

Talking about 'supported', I am still looking for an answer  about which Windows version supports Analysis Studio, Report Studio, Query Studio etc. The document that shows supported environment shows these as not supported at least for Windows 7, 8.1 and server 2008 for Cognos versions 10.1,10.21, 10.2.2 . Now every company provides laptops/desktops to it's employees which have either Win 7 or 8.1  and all of them are using these studios .  ::)

Hi,

The components you are referring to are browser-based, so all you need is a supported browser to be able to use them. They are not shown as being supported in the OS page of the Supported Environments report because they are browser-based, and therefore OS-independent. The OS restrictions are generally for installing the server components (and client components) onto. Windows 7 appears to be supported as a server platform in the new 10.2.2 release (how crazy is that - a server technology being supported on a client OS). For anything in the browser, you're not going to see any specific support specified at the OS level, though.

Cheers!

Excellent MF ! Thanks for the answer !  It would have been better if this would have not been marked as 'X' with that red color . That marking tells people that it is not supported .

Back to the slowdown problem, for what it's worth,  I deleted all the caches in Internet explorer and tried a shot at CCleaner and it's a lot better.
