Modify Connection

Hi,

What are the ways to list down and modify the Connections being used by Framework Manager?
Is there any way we can modify the connection parameters after the project is created, so that any changes can be recorded in the Framework Project?

You should know from your requirements what values you should set them to. Nobody here can help you on this one  ::)

Hahahaha.. I'm new to Cognos and learning how to do some of the functions.
Modifying a connection is one of the tasks which arises every now and then, like changing a password,updating TNS names,etc.? right?

Yes I already know what values I would set, however, don't know which property parameter should map to what value.
Also, there should be a simpler way to modify a connection once set in Framework Manager, shouldn't there be?

I think you ought to know that I'm not quite sure if the problem that you've defined in this thread matches what you think you've defined because I'm not sure what difficulty you've encountered that our answers have failed to address and solve.

As a boy, I forced my hand to do the Vulcan salute so now it comes naturally but that doesn't mean I can do the Vulcan mind-meld.  I'm not going to mention pon farr.

The content manager data source connection property maps to the name of the content manager data source which you want to use.   The schema property maps to the schema of the underlying data base which is defined in the data source connection.  Ditto for the catalog, which may not exist in your database, in which case you just leave it blank.   There's a complext property near the end of the list of properties, which when expanded shows a two letter code identifying the data base vendor type (d2 for db2, or for oracle etc. ) but I don't think it does anything.  The docs might have something about it though.

An alternative, which isn't quite as simple as that, is to import a table from the data source that you want to use, select the newly created data source connection and the data source connection you want to modify and use the little black inverted triangle thingy in the values columns of the property pane to copy the property values you want to copy over.

Well,
I think the post had gotten a little too far. However, the last paragraph in the previous post is exactly what I was expecting in terms of the answer. Although it doesn't answer it completely, however, a lot more appreciated.
I chose to skip through the rest of the answer though.
