Pre-populated prompt values are not pre-populating?? Need Help!

Hello all



I need some assistance please. I have two reports developed in Report Studio, Cognos 10.2. These were developed around the same time and each contain 8-10 prompts.

User would like the prompt values to be pre-populated (so they can see all of the prompt values) before a user selects the prior cascading prompt value. On "Report A", the prompts are all pre-populated with the values and then change according to the cascading prompts (this is how they want it).



On "Report B", even though the same exact same parameters/filters are being used as Report A, and have the same options/selections in the properties pane, "Report B", is NOT pre-populating the values, until the cascading prompt is selected. It shouldn't be like this. It should show all the values and change according to the cascading prompt selections, since in the properties pane, I have "Pre-Poulate" selected to "YES".



Can anyone offer any suggestions as to why the Prompts values are not pre-populating as it should? I have tried everything I can think of and don't know what else it could be?

Hi,

please check if the parent prompt is "Optional" or not. If its not Optional, change the parent prompt to optional, it should populate the values in the cascaded prompt.
