Drill Through Parameters

I have a report that I drill through to from a top level report

I pass some required and some optional parameters, my problem is when I re run the drill through report only the required parameters are kept

Therefore the report is not filtered as it was before, is there anyway to get the report to keep the optional parameters and reuse them?

Try creating some hidden prompts on the page for those parameters. Resubmitting the report without inputs on the page will likely cause the report to lose them.
