Need for upgrading cognos 10.2.1

Request forum members to help emphasize the  following

1. need to upgrade existing cognos 10.2.1 solution. Will there be changes in license.
2. what are the best things that can be put forward using 10.2.1 itself. current solution has workspace, rave , cubes, analysis studio, query studio...
