Hello Gurus,

I created a validation report in Workspace to show the high-level results of a cube as well as the same results from the originating package (to see in 1 place that the cube was built to expectation).

I'd like to distribute this in an email so that users don't have to click on the link but just see the results in their inbox in one email.

I know we can schedule and send Report Studio report (and can't figure out how to replicate this in report studio). On the flip side it doesn't look like there is a way to email a workspace report or a Page (outside of just sending the link).

Any ideas?

thanks!!!!

Hi,

When you refer to a "workspace report" can you be a little more precise about what you mean? Do you mean a report authored in Cognos Workspace Advanced, or a workspace authored in Cognos Workspace?

If you mean the former, a Cognos Workspace Advanced report is the exact same thing as a Report Studio report under the covers - it's just a saved XML report specification that can be opened in either interface. You can schedule/email these from Cognos Connection.

If you mean a workspace created in Cognos workspace, this is basically a collection of items assembled together, potentially from different packages. You can send a URL to direct someone to it by logging in via a browser, but you can't send a rendered cop of it via email.

Cheers!

MF.
