Hi folkes,
I'm using relational package in cognos 10.2. I want to create a pie chart for overall summery data. Can you please help me how to create a chart for summary data. Here I'm getting report in cross table format in report studio. Please reply immediately. Thank you in Advance.

Lynn

Cognos will automatically group and summarize to the level of detail you include in your layout. Just drag in a chart from the toolbox and put the desired elements into it. If you don't include the items that reflect the detail then the chart will inherently be summary data.

Hi,

Luckily for you, Lynn's reply was pretty swift. Why would you take such a pushy attitude with other forum members, though? It seems rude and demanding to insist on an immediate answer - especially considering the fact that everyone who posts on here is doing so in their own time and as a result of their goodwill and desire to help.

Please read the forum etiquette post here, paying particular attention to point 2.

Hi,

I'm not mistaking what you put - just pointing out that what you posted appears rude and pushy. Although you perhaps didn't intend it to be so, nevertheless, that's how it appears, and forum members can be upset by it (and therefore decide not to reply).  It's in your own interests to remain polite and to observe forum etiquette. People will reply if they have an answer to give you, and it will be at a time convenient to them. Demanding an immediate reply is not an incentive that will persuade people to post any quicker than they otherwise would, and in fact may stop them replying altogether.

As Lynn stated above, summaries are automatic. All you need to do is to drag the relevant descriptive item(s) and measure into your pie chart.
