Hi ,
We have the AD Groups created for specific roles , users added to the group , need to automate the process of configuring this LDAP Groups  on IBM Cognos Configuration.

So in principle, once we have added the user to our AD Groups on LDAP server, they should automatically be able to log into Cognos 10.
I know how to configure and set up manually on IBM Cognos Configuration ,this manual process is quite tedious for the users to setup. So I have the requirement for automation .

I will appreciate if you can provide the source code and walk me through the process.

Thanks & Regards,
Aravind

Hi,

LDAP is a one-time configuration as far as Cognos is concerned. As soon as you have pointed Cognos to your AD namespace it then knows about the users and groups in that namespace. If you set up your security restrictions based on AD groups in the first instance, anyone who then is added to that group inherits those restrictions within Cognos.

Have I misunderstood your requirement? You seem to think that every time a user is added to a group in AD you need to go into Cognos Configuration? Can you explain?
