I rather think that was an answer. Fan trap and chasm trap are the common traps you should be Googling if you want to learn more about modelling traps.
What's the scenario you're dealing with that made you look traps up? Are you dealing with a trap and in need of help?

any answer?

Traps are general modeling issues to be examined and dealt with if necessary. There are some important ones to look out for - transitive relationship traps (loops), chasm traps, fan traps etc. Whenever you are modeling relational data for use in a BI tool, you will always need to check for these and deal with them if they are an issue. It's not a concept specific to Cognos - other tools need you to understand and deal with these issues too.

I'm guessing you haven't attended any Framework Manager training? The courses offered though IBM partners all cover off in detail what the common traps are and how specifically to deal with each. My earnest recommendation if you're going to be creating models using Framework Manager is to attend the official class - it is definitely worth the investment.

Cheers!

Two answers to your question:

1. Generally, you should pay attention to the pearls of wisdom that Nimrod and MF have given here :)
2. Specifically, if you consider that you are familiar with Framework Manager, and are just looking for info on the traps that you may encounter while modelling in FM, I find this video on fan and chasm traps very helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKqJ_FjfyVM
