Hi,

I have registered for the IBM Cognos 10 BI Author certification test at Prometric center on this weekend. According to Prometric, the test duration is 2.45 hours whilst as per the IBM supposed duration is 1 hour (60 mins). So this difference in duration, is it exam center specific or the exam related?

I have never been to any certification tests and so I'm a bit curious (or maybe nervous) as what to expect on the exam day.
Please help.

Hi,

I don't think any of the Cognos exams are as long as two hours. It might be worth making sure that Prometric have entered you for the correct exam :) Sixty minutes sounds about right for the test.

When you arrive they will ask to see your photo ID, and you should be able to store any personal belongings in a locker. They will show you to a room with a workstation, and the Prometric person will start the test running for you. The questions are multiple choice, and you can mark questions you're not sure about to make going back to them easier. Once you have answered all the questions, you can review them all - even the ones you put a definite answer for - before you submit. There will be a few seconds wait, then you will be presented with the results. These can be printed off to take with you when you leave.

Good luck!!

MF.

Thank you so much. :D
I dont know if its relevant but
Isn't there any section on forums to share test experience? I know it is illegal to share the actual test questions but it won't hurt to share the topics on which it was focused ( unless, of course, the test structure itself is static).
Well thats just my two cents :D

I wouldn't want to risk angering IBM by posting up topics - even general ones. It's fine to share experiences in terms of how hard/easy you found the test, but I'd steer clear of posting up any information on the questions themselves.

Cheers!
