Hi All,

Would really appreciate any feed back on the below Issue.

Okay hope i can explain it correctly.

In Analysis Studio i have in ROWS Eg: Employment Type

In COLUMNS i have the Years & then Below it (Nested) i have Actuals & Budget.

In CONTEXT i have the Business Unit.

What i'm trying to achieve is to Suppress Zero's in the Actuals & Budget so if there are no figures in Both Actual & Budget to Suppress it. I have tried the Suppress Button does not work or partly does though there are still zeros within the report.

Thank you

Will

Hi,

The Suppress Zeros option will only suppress rows or columns that are entirely zero.  It is not designed to suppress individual values (which seems to be what you want to do here).

The functionality to suppress individual values (or format them independently) is not in Analysis Studio at present.  You would really need to do this in Report Studio.

MF.

Hi MFGF,
In regards to the above Question. Instead of Suppressing Zero's in which i can't, I've tried Filtering it. Below is what i did.
I Filtered on Actual Amount Only
Operator i Chose  #(not equal)
Value i Chose 0
When i get the result back the total will be say 100 & the Sub total will be 109. Is there a reason why it's Not the Same. I'm absolutly puzzled & have banged my head all day & yet do not understand why. I thought about Rounding Differences yet this does not make sense either. Would really appreciate all your help MFGF to get this resolved once & for all. Anyway thank you
Cheers
Will

Hi,

I assume that you applied the filter to a set of members in your rows or columns.  When the filter was being defined, what setting did you use in the 'For Column' (or 'For Row') value?  If you left it as 'Default', the filter will apply to the summarised measure values at the opposite edge of the crosstab (ie, if you selected your row set to filter, the filter will be based on the measure summary values in the last column).  If this is the case, your 'included' summary row and your overall summary row should contain the same values in the last column.

In the above example, you may find that some of the summaries in other columns do not match, though.  For instance one column may contain a value of 1, another of -1.  The summary of these would be 0, resulting in this row not being included but the included/overall summaries for these two columns would be different.

Does this account for what you are seeing?

One other thought that occurs - how is your Actual Amount measure being aggregated?  Are you sure you are seeing total values?  If it's being averaged, for instance, the average will increase if you filter out the zeros, as you would have the same overall total divided by a smaller count.

MF.
