Hi Folks,

I have a strange requirement:-

Based on selection on the attached picture, when i select Mountaineering Equipment, outdoor protection and Personal accessories and in the down prompt selection of 1,2,3 then my report should show Mountaineering Equipment 1 times, outdoor protection 2 times and Personal accessories 3 times. As shown in attached output.

1,2,3 are static values.

Please let me know if any one has any ideas.

Thanks,
Sreeni.

How should your report "know" that it needs to use 1 for Mountaineering Equipmant, 2 for Outdoor Protection etc.? And perhaps more importantly, why do you want to do that? And what do you want to do with the results? I ask because that might determine the approach taken.

My initial thought is to use render variables - bring in all the columns 3 times, then only display them according to the selection in your prompt...but that brings us back to the first question - how do you want to tie the two together.

The first value in first prompt corresponds to first value in second prompt, this also needs to be fixed to segregate values.

Hi,

Any thoughts on  this to anybody.

I think answers to the questions that BigChris asked are important in order to get more thoughts. He also provided a suggested approach that sounds reasonable to me so perhaps some feedback on what you tried with regard to render variables or why that won't suit your requirement would help generate alternatives for you.
