Hi Everbody,

First of all , i say sorry to all, that i underestimated you people... But in fact, i didnot mean that....

I have a report in cognos 8, where text prompt is there in prompt page, i dont know the value  to be entered..

So i wanted to know the corresponding query item ,used in for text prompt, so that , i can know the table name and column name to check the values in database . i will get the values from database, after executing sql query...

Thanks
Inam

Hi Inu,

I hope I'm reading your question correctly, forgive if not. If I understand your requirement, I think you're trying to see where a prompt is used , so that you can understand what values to key into your text prompt. There isn't a simple way of doing this (or at least, I don't know of one). If you click on the prompt in your Prompt Page, you should see in the Properties panel that the prompt is linked to a particular parameter...I've attached a screen capture to show you what I mean.

Once you know what parameter you're dealing with it's just a case of going through your queries to find out where it's used...and against which table/ field.
