Not able to open the excel file for scheduled report in 10.1.1

Hi ,

i am facing some strange issue with the report,i ran the report in HTML and am able to export it to excel,but the same report i scheduledwith the excel format,but i am not able to open the excel

getting error when i am trying to open the xecl...Excel cannot open the file because file foramt or file extension is not valid

I am using excel 2007,cognos:10.1 version

Report is having 188000 records

What file extension does the saved output have? Do you get the error if you open Excel and use the "Import external data from text" option?

I think we are misunderstanding each other. What happens if you launch Excel from the Start Menu, then use Excel's "Import external data from text" option and point it at the xlsx file produced by Cognos - does it import?

Hmmm. That definitely doesn't sound right. Is it possible a virus scanner or popup blocker is interfering?
