Hi all,

I have a couple of reports for which I need to change the package to a new one. The reports contains some crosstabs. The members are the same, just they are in different dimensions. Is it any way to change the members without rebuild all the reports? If I cut from query the member will disappear from crosstab.

Thanks!

Hi,

You can initially change the package by using the File > Report Package option, but of course all the MUNs of the members will be different in the new package.

One way you might consider to fix this is risky, but might be worth trying. If you can figure out how the MUNs have changed (ie what the old MUNs were and what the new MUNs now are) you can copy the report spec to the clipboard, (Tools > Copy Report to Clipboard), paste it into a text editor, make global edits to change the old MUN values to their corresponding new MUN values, then copy the revised spec back to the clipboard and use the Tools > Open Report from Clipboard option in Report Studio.

Good luck!

Hi

Hi MFGF, I looked at this option, but is was too complicated to search and paste the MUNs.

I have just rebuild the query with exact member names from the old query (behind the new MUN), then copy paste the whole report page. This way my crosstabs worked.

thanks

I'm looking for a similar solution.  I have a client who has massive power cubes built in transformer that we would like to transition to dynamic cubes.  The issue is they have a ton of reports that are using the existing power cube as the source.  Is there anyway to repoint the existing reports to a new dynamic cube if its built exactly the same as it was in transformer (same dimensions, measures, etc)?  I've done fine & replace on MUNs in the past with some success but this is new territory for me.

Any ideas would be greatly apprecaited.
