Make baseline flat on 3D combo chart

I have a 3D combination chart with a baseline running across.  The chart runs fine in HTML, but when running it in PDF the transparent part below the baseline becomes opaque and dark making the chart bars look like they are cut AND it blocks the percentages above the bars in that area.  Please view the attachment to see an example.  Is there a way to make the baseline appear flat without the opaque filling that gives it the 3D look?  I tried lighter colors but same result in PDF.  Also is there a way to move the percentages a little bit above the top of the bars?  I know the two options are 'coarse' and 'stagger' but there is barely a difference between the two.

Running RS 10.1.1 FP2.

Thanks
