Cube Building process

Hi Guru's,

I am new to Cognos Powerplay.
can anybody tell me what exactly is performed at backend while creating cube?
Like what is meant by creating categories ?what are categories?
How it helps in building cube?
what are the steps taken @ cognos  level while building cube?

yes.. it is broad.. the co you work for should have a support account w/ cognos ... call customer srvs 1-800-637-7447 give them your pin ..ask a rep to send you Practical Guide to Transformer in Production, it also might be on the cognos knowledge base. read it as many times as you need to to get a true intuitive understanding it might take years.... have fun with it transformer is a great tool
