Need to hide packages in Cognos Connection

We are using Cognos 10.2.1 with Fix pack 3.

We have few cognos packages and reports. We want to hide the packages for all Cognos users. But in the mean time, we have few super users who has report studio access.

Even for them, the packages should not be visible in Cognos Connection but if they launch report studio, the packages should be visible for them to create reports.

We tried with different permission options in package such as giving only Execute, Traverse access for reports. So the packages are not visible for all users but for super users also it is not available while launching Report studio.

The same we faced while Hiding the packages in the Package properties.

Do we have any other option of workaround for this scenario? Basically packages should not be visible for any one but while launching report studio, query studio then packages should be available in "Select a package" screen.

Thanks,
Satish

We are having the exact same problem.  Does anyone out there know how to resolve this issue?

Thanks,

what you could do is apply the following setting:
Go to: <install>/templates/ps/portal open system.xml
you see there a parameter named "visible". This parameter enables you to control the visibility of objects in Cognos Connection.
If you change the value to only READ instead of R/W/E/T/Sp then only objects that a user has READ permission to will be visible. (They can still be used, but are only not visible in the Web interface).
