Hi Everyone,

I am a newbie of Cognos Express and I want to see if it is possible (and if it is, how) to Connect Cognos Framewok Manager to an Cognos Express Envirnment.
- Which links should I use in the FM Configuration to be able to communicate with the Express Env.

Futher, I also want to integrate a TM1 Server to the Express Env.
- (Again)Which links should I use in the TM1 Configuration to be able to communicate with the Express Env.
- Which parameters should i keep in mind to adjust in the TM1s file
- Can I get an example how to configure the connection in de Cognos Express Manager Data connection e.g.:
      - Administraton Host
      - ICAS Server Name
      - etc.

Thank you.

Chamopak

Guys,
I already found a solution.

Thanks anyway :) see you at the next question.

Framework Manager is included with Express, and self-provisions and self-configures to point to your Express instance. You shouldn't be using a version of Framework Manager from Cognos 10 BI (ie the non-Express version) with Cognos Express - use the included FM that comes with your Express instance.

If you get under the covers and look at how it self-configures, you will see that both the gateway and dispatcher point to the Express dispatcher tomcat URI (...p2pd/servlet/dispatch)

You're not allowed to do this - your Express license explicitly forbids you from setting up multiple TM1 servers within your Express instance (with the exception of servers published to the Express instance from Cognos Insight). The only TM1 server you are allowed to have configured (other than the published Insight ones) is labelled 'cxmd'.

Although technically you may have found a way to make it work, you need to make sure you are not in breach of your Express license agreement.

Cheers!
