Framework Manager freezes when I update an object

Hi there,
I've been using this framework manager for six months, and had no problems. A few weeks ago, our sysadmin regenerated our cryptographic keys (apparently this has to be done yearly). The first time I've used the framework manager since, I've been getting weird errors.

Originally, when I tried to update an object, I got an error QE-DEF-0368. Unable to decrypt user name and password credentials from the content store.
So, I went to the configuration manager, didn't make any changes, just clicked save.
Now, when I try to test or update an object, the framework manager just hangs till I crash it out. I looked at the event logs on the server, but it just says that the application hung.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello erics,
When you hit save on the FM configuration, it should have resolved the issue. Usually, in case of cryptographic changes, we see errors even while saving the FM configuration. So, try this...
Open Cognos configuration for your FM installation, then do File > Export As. In the popup window save the file as cogstartupPLAIN.xml, making sure you are saving it in the configuration directory of the FM installation.
Close your Cognos configuration for FM.
Then, in your FM configuration directory <Install_Root>/configuration, cut out the folders, csk, encryptkeypair and signkeypair and paste it into a temporary location, lets say desktop. Cut out the file cogstartup.xml and paste it on your desktop.
Rename cogstartupPLAIN.xml to cogstartup.xml in the configuration directory.
Start the cognos configuration for FM again.
Hit save.

This will recreate your cryptographic keys from scratch. If all goes well, delete the files you pasted on your desktop. If not, put them back in the configuration directory.

Hope it helps.

Hi there,
Thanks for the suggestion. I had our sysadmin make the changes, and I can publish the package, but when I try to update an object or view a test sample, it just freezes on me.

There are two weird things about this. First, that it freezes instead of giving me an error. Second, that it looks like it can publish, but not search. It's like it's being blocked one way ....
