Could any one explain the difference b/w framework manager prompts & Report studio studio prompts?

Not my area especially, but I've built filters with prompts in FM that can then be brought into queries / reports. The benefit is that they're built centrally and can be consistently applied. A promptable filter in RS will obviously be built in whatever way the report author thinks is the best way
