Running fine in HTML but not in PDF format

Hi

I ran the report in HTML format and getting the output in 10 minutes..the same report i ran in PDF format and ite keep on running and giving the below error

RQP-DEF-0177 An error occurred while performing operation 'sqlOpenResult' status='-28'. UDA-SQL-0114 The cursor supplied to the operation "sqlOpenResult" is inactive. UDA-SQL-0107 A general exception has occurred during the operation "open result". [IBM][CLI Driver] SQL30081N A communication error has been detected. Communication protocol being used: "TCP/IP". Communication API being used: "SOCKETS". Location where the error was detected: "192.168.118.61". Communication function detecting the error: "recv". Protocol specific error code(s): "*", "*", "0". SQLSTATE=08001

I schedule the report to my email in PDF format that time also getting the above error
cognos 10.1 version and DB2 database
Any help?

If you return the report in HTML you only get the first page rendered first, Cognos then process the other pages in the background.
With a PDF the entire report has to be created before the pdf can be created.

If it's a long report then sometimes on pdf the error occurs on later pages or a timeout can occur.

How many pages on the report?
Try runnig in HTML then click on "last page" and see if you get the same error message.

In the report we have 4 pages(page1,page2,page3,page4),i run the report in HTML and click on Bottom and i am not getting any error but it is taking time to get the bottoem page
