Not able to see newly created LDAP user in Cognos -> Security -> Show all users

A new user has been created on LDAP server. User is able to login to cognos but to provide the privilege to execute the reports, I need to add him to Consumer group.
Generally, once it is created, it can be seen under Security -> Show All Users. So that privilege to execute the reports can be provided from there.
But I do not see this new user under Security tab.  Hence not able to provide the required privilege.
I got the user recreated from LDAP thinking it might be LDAP issue, but the user can login so it is not something with LDAP.
Anyone is aware of how to get the user name visibility in Security -> Show all users tab.
Please suggest.

Hi,

This might be a silly suggestion, but have you scrolled right to the end of the list of users to see if the new user is there? In my LDAP most users are listed alphabetically, but if I add a new one it often appears at the end of the list.

I am able to see it now but it seems once it is getting updated in LDAP, its taking time to reflect in Cognos.......... :(
Anyhow, its appearing now there..... so not an issue.

Thanks MF for reply.

I was having problems like that in the past. I would have to log out of Cognos and log back in to see the newly added User/Userclass in Cognos. That might be a possible fix for you in the future if you run into this again.

I think I've noticed this kind of 'time lapse' when changing membership in a AD group when access is granted through AD security group, the rigths were not immediatly reflected, but after a while it was ok.

I think the replication is immediate when dealing with security between domain controllers so I guess cognos is querying the Active directory at a specific frequency.
