Report Author Development but Client Server!!!!!!

Friends,

Presently, we are using Report Author 10.1.2 on the web. Meaning that the Tool is Browser based and unlike
other programming languages, it would have been great is the tool work Client/Server. I guess like Jdev, Eclipse, or
even our own Framework Manager or Transformer.

Does anybody knows about any solution that we can use to perform Client/Server Report Author equivalent
type of development?

This web based development is very slow!!!!!!!

Assuming you mean Report Studio... Personally I do not find the web interface slower than desktop tools. I prefer browser-based tools because it is much easier to manage installs on a server(s) then across all clients.

That said, you could look at Cognos Insight if you really want something on Windows clients. You can (and will want to) provision it on your Cognos server so that it installs from there, and future server updates will automatically update clients. It has strengths and weaknesses and is really intended for end user BI, but you may find it useful.

Thank you. We will stick with the web development then since our reports has to be fully compatible with Browser interface anyway.
