In a test server i installed 10.2.2 and i am waiting for the first FP in order to put it in production.

Today i installed IF1 and IF2 and i cant start the service ,failing in IBM Cognos Servlet gateway...

I dont remember if i had Servlet gateway before if1,if2 :)

So whats the case?

I have seen this but the issue is not with the cognos service. Cognos Service is started ok ONLY IF i delete the gateway server from configuration. But i dont know what this service is and if it is new in 10.2.2 IF1/2

It's new in 10.2.2, and it gets installed if you take the easy "Just do it all for me please" install option. It's similar to the old (pre 10.2.2) system of using Tomcat instead of configuring a web server (similar but not the same - with Tomcat you would connect directly to the dispatcher), but Cognos 10.2.2 does not use Tomcat (uses Websphere Liberty instead) and you get a Servlet Gateway. If you delete the servlet gateway you will need to set up a web server to connect to Cognos 10, and make sure that the standard gateway is installed and configured.

Cheers!

Very interesting things you say here and i think that we are doing some things wrong also in 10.2.1 instalaltions we have...

I have been always installed Cognos along with an IIS on the same box. I DID NOT change anything regarding tomcat. Just followed the instructions of IIS setup. Does what you say mean that i have also tomcat running something that it shouldn;t?

In my 10.2.2 setup i also setup IIS by the way i know (using isapi) and everything seems normal, without the servlet gateway...Am i doing the right things?

P.S. and of course another big thanks again!

That was exactly my setup pre 10.2.2. You had the ability to use Tomcat instead of a web server if you wish (but you needed to manually copy content from Webcontent into Webapps to get things to render properly) but generally the use of a web server and a gateway is the recommended approach. You're doing nothing wrong and you do need Tomcat as it acts as your java application server (unless you replace it with a third-party app server).

In that case you don't need the servlet gateway at all - IIS and the regular gateway (cognosisapi.dll) make it redundant.

I just successfully signed up (a second time) using a hotmail account. It took around a minute for the confirmation email to arrive, but from there I managed to verify my account and log in. Works fine for me! :)

What happens immediately after you press the blue button join?

I am getting the loader graphics and then i get a message that the system is unavailable.

I think that it has to do with the captcha options and accepting the aggreement. sometimes i am getting numbers and other times i am getting letters for captcha....

The strange thing is that i tried this from around 5 machines and tablets either from my office or from my home .....
