Excel Function through Report Studio

Hi,
Can we send Excel Formula through report Studio.

Here is the Ex:

A              B             C
--------------------------------
10            5           =A1*B1
4              6           =A2*B2
                             =A3*B3

Requirement is, user will insert the values in the a3 and b3 once it is generated to excel, so that in the 'C' column he can see the values.

When i create calculated column for 'C' and set the formula in cognos report, it is showing only string value i.e '=A1*B1' not the numerical value 15 in the excel output.

Can anyone give solution.

I don't see this possible in reportnet. What i can think of is have a macro inserted into the excel which creates the formulae for the C column and call this macro every time the excel output is generated.

You could try using Office Connection, establish the formulas you want in colum C and just import the data into columns A&B as necessary.

There is no way to send an equation to the cell as anything other than text.
