Select and search prompt problem

Hello All,

I have a search and select prompt and some value prompts on top of a report page.
Whenever user try to search something, it refreshes the entire report, this in turn runs the whole report and retrieves the search result.
Is this the normal behavior? This slows down the search and entire report. My requirement is to only search the specified hierarchy and retrieve the values. Is it possible?

Hi Ammus1234,

No, this is not a normal behavior. Will you pls check the query for this search and select prompt, if it is the same as the report query? This prompt should have a separate query that which will give items on which the report will be filtered.

May be you can also try moving this on a prompt page and just pass necessary filter data to the report.

Thanks for your reply.

1. Search filter has a different query than report query.
2. I can't create a prompt page. I need the prompts on top of the report as this is an interactive report.
Everything else is fine except the select and search prompt which runs the entire report every time.

Is there anyway we can have a prompt page to show on top of report page so that only that part will be refreshed. ???
