Hi Gurus,

I try to create Crosstab based report for using Active report. In Crosstab rows is product line and product type. Column is Year. Measure is Revenue. And also used data check box group control(Product line).

I want to display Heading for each cross node members(Rows). That means Product line and product type have separate titles. I try with two ways.

1. Using Cross-tab Space. If i use this method it display the headings(without selecting any product line). If i select any product line from data check box group it does not shows the titles.

2. Using Text box. Unlock the key. Track the  text box before product line. And enter the titles. In this method each row having the titles. End user don't like this approach.

Please help how to solve this scenario. You need any reference, please find the attached xml file.

Thanks and Regards,
Chandrasekar.

Try this .. Unlock the crosstab corner and put a table in there with 2 columns and 1 row. I always Uncheck max width. Then put a text boxes in each table cell.

You will probably need to check Fixed Size in the table properties of the table and also set the width to something like 250px to get them to line up and look decent.

I attached the xml so you can see what I tried.

Hello Chandrasekar,
Please see the attached XML. Will this work for you?
1)Add two "Crosstab spaces" one each for Product Line and Product Type right before the Year column.
2)Hit Unlock from the tool menu and drag and drop text items inside each, and put in the text Product Line and Product Type.
3)Select the blank white boxes under these Crosstab space columns and set Box Type to None.
4)Select the crosstab corner and set Box Type to None, this will make the Crosstab-space headers to slide in right on top of the respective columns.
I find this method pretty handy in making the Crosstabs look like Lists at the same time keeping the dynamic nature of columns in a crosstab. Try it and let me know if it worked.

Hi Milk_Toast & Cognos810,

Both concepts working fine for me. Thank you very much.

What i did actually that time means, Create two cross-tabs. First cross-tab have only cross-tab node member(Product line & Product type) and fixed both column size. Give box type is none for unused boxes.  Second cross-tab as-usual report.

Report looks the heading is above the second cross-tab, not exactly. But its good. Thanks once again.

Thanks & Regards,
