There are three charts coming from three different reports.
Chart 1 have quantity, year and order method.
Chart 2 have revenue ,product line and order method.
Chart 3 have gross profit,Product brand and order method.
Now we need to import these 3 charts in Work Space and then we need to use Selection Prompt for Product Line and Region which is applicable to all the three charts.
Please let me know how we can achieve this scenario??

Hi,

Are the reports based on a dimensional package or a relational package? The answer will dictate how the solution will work...

If you are using a dimensional package, you will need to drag your Region members into the Context area in all three reports, and you will need to drag your Product Line members into the Context area in the Chart1 and Chart3 reports (Chart2 already uses Product Line so we are ok). Once you have done this, go into Cognos Workspace and drag in the three charts from these three reports, then go to the Toolbox tab and drag in two Select Value Filters - one based on Region and one based on Product Line.

If you are using a relational package, it's a different technique.
Open the Chart1 report, and go to the query for the chart. Add Product Line and Region as data items in the query. Then add a new query to the report - call it _BusinessInsight_ (the case is important) and add the same two data items. Save the report.
Do the exact same process for the Chart3 report.
Open the Chart2 report and go to the query for the chart. Add Region as a data item. Then add a new query called _BusinessInsight_ and add Region to this query too. Save the report. Once you have done this, go into Cognos Workspace and drag in the three charts from these three reports, then go to the Toolbox tab and drag in two Select Value Filters - one based on Region and one based on Product Line.

Cheers!
