TM1 Web Data Entry - How to flag last change

We have a TM1 Web application where users can enter their data.  We want to create a report that shows what the user has entered and/or changed in the data entry.  Is there an easy way to do this?  I was thinking of using a last modification date.  Is there a function in TM1 to do this? 

Any ideas would be great.  Thanks!

Data changes are written to the transaction log but the tools provided to access it are quite limited. We've written routines to extract them out for analysis but the content is  ;) transactional so doesn't readily go back into TM1.
