Hi MFGF,

Kindly help me on the this post.

I have a report with drill through which works fine

1. Added a Query in Burst Options of File Menu with Burst Group as Person_Name and Burst Recipient as Email_Address

2. Cognos Connection-->Run Options --> Advanced Options-->
     1. Format as PDF
     2. Checked Burst the Report
     3. Send the Report By Email--> edit the Options --> checked both
         (1. Include link to the report         2.     attachment )
     4. Checked prompt for values
     5. Clicked on Run and have given the prompt values.
3. Report Bursted Successfully

I have received an email with PDF attachment and link as well. If click on the Link then the drill through is working fine for mesince i am bursting the report. If i open the PDF attachment the the drill through is not working.

The other people got the emails with PDF attachment and link but the drill through does not work.

Can you please let me know how to make the drill through works fine in PDF attached or link specified in the email for all the emails.

Environment:
Cognos 10.1.1
Oracle

Kindly help me out of this issue.

Thanks,
Bhaskar.

Drill through definitions are a means of navigating between reports within the Cognos architecture. When you send a report via email, you can either send a link back to a saved output in the Content Store (ie a link back to the Cognos instance) or you can attach the output to the email (or both).

When using the link to the saved output, you are re-connecting to your Cognos server and authenticating during this process, so drill-through will work, since you are now within the Cognos architecture. When viewing the output attached to your email, you are not within the Cognos instance - you are using the saved output standalone. Drill throughs will not work because you are not in the Cognos architecture at this point, and you are not authenticated.

It's nothing to do with bursting - it works in exactly the same way for any report that is sent via email.

I'm happy to answer your questions if I can, but I'm only one of many people on this forum who can provide answers. If you have questions, please just post them up in the relevant section of the forum rather than sending them as personal messages.

Cheers!

MF.
