Report Studio session restarting automatically

Good afternoon. I've been having an intermittent problem for quite a while now where upon closing the IE 11 window after running a report or view tabular of a query while in Report Studio, it exits out of the report I'm working on and essentially restarts my Report Studio session. I obviously lose all of my changes since the last save. I know I need to save as frequently as possible and try to do that but when I get wrapped up in building and testing something, it's tough to remember. Frankly I shouldn't have to worry about it. It's incredibly frustrating.

Has anyone experienced anything similar in the past? Could it be a database connection issue, Cognos server space problem, or something like that?

Browser compatibility issue maybe? Are you running IE11 in Compatibility Mode? What build and service pack of Cognos 10 are you using?

Apologies for not mentioning the version I'm using. It's 10.2. Not using compatibility mode at all, at least as far as I can tell. There aren't any sites listed for compatibility view anyway.

I appreciate you taking the time to post that, MF. I'll give compatibility mode a shot. Hopefully that'll fix the problem. If not, I may request they install a punching bag in this building to absorb my frustration when it happens!  :)

I ended up reverting back to IE 10 from IE 11. Another Cognos user, who has never experienced the same problem I have, at this client where I'm working is running Cognos on IE 9. I know IE 11 has given some folks problems in the past with some applications. Keeping my fingers crossed that going back to IE 10 will fix things.

IE10 is pretty solid for me (Cognos 10.2.1).

Another alternative is to use Firefox, which has caveats of its own on the list of supported browsers. I use mostly Firefox for browsing and occasionally use it for Cognos work without problems, even on the latest release.
