Scheduling to run same report with different prompt choices from database

Hi,
I have a requirement to schedule an existing report and generate multiple outputs based on multiple prompt choices read from a database control table.
The functionality required is to read values time period and customer id and generate report for each selection and save it to a file system. I am not looking for a SDK solution or a report view job to manually save the prompt values.
I am looking into an event studio or a bursting solution.

Any help on this would be appreciated

Maybe I am missing something, but why not include the control table in the package? Then you can use things like master/detail or bursting to produce the reports using built-in Cognos functionality.
