Hi All,
I am having almost more than 3 yrs exp in SAP BO and good knowledge of OBIEE.I have been asked to Learn Cognos 10.1 for our new project assignment,so i was going through it and currently getting an idea on Framework Manager. So for practice purpose i created 5-6 tables and created a framework model to create a few sample reports. So my Question is what all the new different things i need to learn in Framework Model and different issues we faced will designing or working on it.For eg:- when i was working in SAP BO Universe designer we have face loops issue and used alias and Contexts to resolve these loops, like this do we face any similar kind of issues in Framework Model..

Can anyone please guide me on this and how to go ahead??

Believe it or not, the Framework Manager help is a good starting point. In FM, select menu item Help > Contents.

Looping can be an issue in an FM model, and I would suspect in most any modeling tool.

I'd honestly (and earnestly) recommend the official training courses offered by IBM's partners as one of the best ways to get up to speed quickly with FM. Not only are all the modelling traps covered (loops/chasms/fans etc) but they explain how queries are formulated based on the structures and relationships defined, and show you the best-practice guidelines for modelling to deliver accurate, predictable results. It costs money, but I think it's worth every penny you spend on it.

Cheers!

MF.
