HI
As i see data deck, data control tab, data button bar are having the same functionalities in such a way that, tabs or button are driven by data item in each and every control. Only names and some procedures  are different to develop the same kind of report.
Is there any difference , In what situation should i use these stuffs. Please tell the difference.

Second , deck, Button Bar, tab controls are used for the same purpose.
Then why these three controls are there for the same purpose, why not one only.

Please guys elaborate it clearly, i m a beginner of active report.

Cheers!

A data button bar and a data tab control are both controls that set active report variables. One is represented as buttons and one is represented as tabs. If you want buttons you use one and if you want tabs you use the other.
A data deck is an object that reacts to an active report variable. Think of it like a pack of cards. One card is displayed at any one moment - the card you see is controlled by the active report variable or variables linked to it.

Data button bars, data tab controls and data decks are all driven by data values from your package. Button bars, tab controls and decks are not - the values are manually defined by you in the report. For example, maybe you want a deck with two cards - one called Crosstab and one called Chart. You would bring in a deck and define these manually. Then you want a control to select which card is visible, so you bring in either a button bar or a tab control, and define two values - Crosstab and Chart.
