Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know when IBM has planned to release 10.2.2 version of Cognos BI Server. We are planning to upgrade the cognos version in our organization.

We know that IBM has planned to announce the information in their Expo-October end. But still any details or information would be much appreciated.

IBM does not generally release information like that ahead of time. So, nobody in the public really knows for certain, and the people who do not are not likely to tell you.

There is generally a release around the fall conference. Whether that is 10.2.2 or another number is anybody's guess.

My experience would suggest it might not be good idea to plan ahead of time to use the initial release of any version update on anything critical, like updating your production platforms. Wait at least a month or two for people to have tested it out to see how stable it is, or maybe even wait until the first service pack comes out.

Our IBM contact said the same thing, that a new version is about to come before the end of this year but like bdbits, I would wait till a patch is released. My experience says the same thing..don't upgrade till a patch is released.

Sweet, thanks for the link Rajesh_Vanam.

I heard November 21st.  Saw a webinar offered by a consultant on 10.2.2 New Features and that is the date they are saying.

Seems like a reasonable guess, but until IBM officially announce the date, don't bet your life savings on it :)

Maybe this is common knowledge by now (I just got back from a long holiday) but AnalyticsZone has made available a series of short videos on the new C10.2.2 features: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBR9T_Kk_isnm3q7RaSRVP-oyAhO035NV

Can one actually *do anything* with the link http://cognos10.analyticszone.com/ibmcognos/ ? I mean, like actually log on?

Yes - my Analyticszone login credentials get me in to the the 10.2.2 instance no problem.

Indeed it does! Maybe that's why the login screen says 'Enter your AnalyticsZone credentials to log in'.   DUH  :(

Not sure what you are asking here. 10.2.2 is the next major release after 10.2.1. It's not a fix pack or an interim fix, so it will the the same process to move to it as to move from 10.2 to 10.2.1 - ie back up, uninstall, reinstall.

Cheers!

Hmmm. Ok - sounds like Analyticszone is having issues today. I would try again tomorrow or on Monday :)

I got it to work with a trick.
After filling out the registration form I never got an activation email.
Click on the Forgot Password link and enter the email you registered with. You will get an email with a new password. Voila you can login and check out 10.2.2

In my passport area i can see 10.2.2 in my "IBM Cognos Business Intelligence Administrator" role.

But "IBM Cognos Business Intelligence Analytics Administrator" still shows 10.2.1...

Is this the expected behaviour? I mean they will release other roles shortly after the Administrator?

For example ,strangely if i search for Cognos 10.2.2 SDK by part number i find it and i can download it. If i search Cognos SDK by description i find only 10.2.1...
