Hi,

I am facing it after we migrated to cognos10.2 from cognos10.1. If i change the logging setting from 'Minimal' to 'Request ' its updating. But in our cognos10.1 it is 'Minimal' with which audit data  is
updated. So what exactly it makes difference for updating and not updating audit data.

Regards,
Srini.

Hello Shrini,
With the log settings at "Minimal" neither 10.1 nor 10.2 would register any entries in the log tables. The only entries that are written are for the system status in the COGIPF_THRESHOLD_VIOLATIONS table. At our environment, because the only requirement is to capture the lognon requests to determine who has been using the cognos portal, we have set the loggin level to BASIC for ContentManagerService, which works like a charm.
The only reason I could think of, as to why your 10.1. system was logging even with MINIMAL set for audit logging is a difference in the ipfclientconfig.xml file. By default, your 10.2 environment would have this file "turned off" with ".sample" in the end. May be, your 10.1 environment had this file turned on. This file can be located in the configuration directory of your cognos install.

Thanks,
