Connecting to https//myserver.abc.xyz.edu/cognosexpress brings up a blank page.
Using Cognos Express 10.2.1 on Windows 2008 64-bit.

On the server, http://myserver:19300/p2pd/servlet/dispatch brings up the Cognos Connection with folders and reports.
Using the https//myserver.abc.xyz.edu/cognosexpress URL brings up a blank page.

I've been through the IIS Manager setup with the application pools, etc. I've also been through the Cognos Configuration setup. Basically, I don't know where to look for the missing link in the chain.

So you're trying to get a gateway/web server working with Express rather than connecting via the Express dispatcher? If so, you need a separate install for the gateway, then you need to follow these instructions:
