How to create dynamic sorting on date column in a list report?
e.g
suppose the is a list report having three column i.e Product Line ,Date and Revenue.
Now when we execute the report ,then the on the op available we can sort the data if we click on Date heading.
How we can achieve this requirement??

old approach will be to create three lists. one will be sorted by product line, another by date and third by revenue.

add a drop down (or whatever) in the report and upon choosing a value, display the appropriate list.

I hope there is a new approach, it will be interesting to know. that is why i replied to this thread to be updated with any replies :)  8)

There's an undocumented, unreleased, and slightly broken feature here.

This may or may not break other features, such as cascading prompts, but at least it shows that IBM is working on it.

Thanks all for the help.
I have another query.
Is it possible to have the dynamic sorting in cognos similar to excel i.e
suppose the is a list report having three column i.e Product Line ,Date and Revenue.
Now when we execute the report ,then the on the op available we can sort the data first by Product line then by date and then by Revenue.

you are executing the report, can't you just execute with output to excel?
