Check Cognos Version from XML

is there any way we can check the version of cognos from the report spec ?

Don't think so. Just curious, why do you need this?

I've had a look through the XML for a couple of reports and I can't see anything that would identify the cognos version

There is an XML schema version in the XML, which only somewhat loosely corresponds to a Cognos version.
