Hi all,

how would I be able to set up reports so that they can be viewed from any remote location via the web? I am looking at creating a URL kind of thing that would facilitate this. any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I think this questions is bigger than what the answer sought out may be.

Part 1:  Intranet vs. Internet

Is your employer allowing the use of your reporting solution outside of their firewall? If its out on public domain then that solves many problems. If its purely intranet, you're going to have to find some solution that lets them into your network (VPN type client).

Part 2: Who gets accounts?
You could leave the everyone account intact to allow for access to everything, or leave anonymous on.  Is your data public enough to let people in without accounts, otherwise, you're going to have to define security within your Cognos Connection to allow for reports to be viewed, ran, scheduled...etc...

Part 3: Portal?
Every report in C8 has a URL that with the help of URL parameters can be placed in a tailored Cognos Viewer.  But the user still has to log in or use anonymous access to go to these reports and have a way of accessing them.  At this point though, why deviate from Cognos Connection.  Unless you have another portal delivery system, it may be easier to stick with this for the time being.

These are just some considerations for what you might be looking to move towards.
