Hi all,

i have installed an instance of cognos 10.2.1 on our server. i noticed that the free space on the C: drive of the server is very less, so i decided to check whats eating up so much space on the server.

i found out that .dmp files are getting generated, which i already deleted.

i came across a "temp" folder which is consuming lot of space. Request you to guide me if i can delete the files in this folder? or is there any other solution to this. i have attached the screenshot for the same.

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Hi,

Sounds like you have reports that are dumping out vast amounts of data?

Does this support document help?

Do not delete the cbs.prefs file.

You can delete files starting from VMMxxx, UDAxxx, .dmb etc...

Some files don't get deleted even if you restart Cognos services so need manual deletion.

Also, if your temp space is running out because of one 8GB temp file, you don't have enough.
